Happening at the National level

The Legislative Issues Committee continues to follow developments that could impact advertising and communication decisions locally. Here is recent coverage following the latest on the FCC’s internet privacy ruling, initially advanced in October 2016 under the Obama administration and statements issued by industry leaders as this ruling positions for repeal under the Trump administration.

Advertising’s 4A’s welcomed incoming president Marla Kaplowitz

The American Association of Advertising Agencies, also known as the 4A’s, one of the ad industry’s national trade association representing U.S. advertising agencies, is celebrating 100 years of counsel and advocacy for U.S advertising firms. The First Amendment Appears in Arabic in Campaign From the ACLU

Constitutional Words Protecting Free Speech, Religions Appears in Three Languages

Emergence Creative’s black and white campaign for the American Civil Liberties Union showcases the empowering effect of the First Amendment in any language, with out-of-home billboards and posters that feature the words written in English, Spanish and Arabic. “It doesn’t matter who you are or what language you speak. ’We the People’ means everyone,” the ACLU’s Anthony Romero said.
